Since I was about 17, I was fascinated with the idea of “flying my mind” - having inner strength, and going wherever I wanted in my dreams.  Though the interest in lucid dreaming has been off as of late (not that I don't still have the occasional lucid dream), wisdom and inner strength still call to me.  So, while flying around within my mind as it is with my mindfulness practice - cultivating lucid waking, if you will - perhaps I can develop some of that inner strength.  Or not.  We'll see.

I'm prone to being cynical, pessimistic, and doubting, and will not take things like afterlife, meaning, living to see the next day, or growing in my practice for granted.  But some experience I've had indicates that even this inclination toward the negative can be transformed - not into positive thinking per se, but into a willingness to take a closer and fresher look at things, and perhaps even faith as freedom from constraint by beliefs or disbeliefs.

Since I have not transcended my ego and don't even necessarily aspire to (given that transcendence is often either a fleeting experience or a state of affairs that is unacknowledged), I encourage people to feed my ego by reading my blog or visiting my pod - http://pods.zaadz.com/the_dark_edge.>
